Sahaj Sat offers meditation, self-inquiry, gatherings and retreats. This notice explains how we handle information through this website and its registration and email services. For privacy questions or requests, contact Ashwin at ashwin.patil82@gmail.com.
Information you share
- Event registrations: your name, city, email address and the event you choose. We also keep the registration date, confirmation and reminder email attempt/status records, and whether joining details were included in the confirmation. Reminder tracking uses a hashed email identifier to prevent duplicate sends.
- Newsletter subscriptions: the email address and any other information you choose to provide through the Substack subscription form. If you sign up directly with us, we keep your email address and signup date.
- Correspondence: your contact details and anything you choose to send us when asking a question or arranging personal guidance.
The event form does not request payment-card details or medical information. Please do not send sensitive personal information that is not needed for your enquiry.
How we use information
We use registration details to organise your chosen event, send confirmations, event reminders and joining information, respond to questions and manage changes. A notification containing your name, city, email and event details is sent to the organiser. Registering for an event does not automatically subscribe you to a newsletter.
Newsletter subscriptions are used for the updates you request. We also use limited technical and administrative information to operate the website, prevent duplicate submissions and investigate delivery or security problems.
Google / Gmail email connection
The Sahaj Sat WordPress Mail integration uses WP Mail SMTP to connect the organiser's authorised Google account for website emails. Visitors do not need to connect a Google account or give us access to their own inbox to register.
When enabled, the mailer accesses the connected sender's email address and available sender aliases, and stores account information and OAuth access and refresh tokens in WordPress settings to maintain the connection. Google processes outgoing recipients, headers and message content, including registration and joining details. Authorisation uses WP Mail SMTP's connection service.
The plugin's Gmail permission can include reading, composing, sending and deleting email, although our website uses the connection for outgoing site communications and sender configuration. The account owner should review the permissions on Google's consent screen.
Our use of information obtained through Google APIs is limited to this email functionality, in accordance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We do not use that information for advertising or AI model training.
The connected account owner can revoke access through Google Account connections and disconnect the mailer in WordPress. Revocation stops future authorised access; it does not itself remove existing registration records, sent emails or backups.
Services that help us run Sahaj Sat
- Hostinger: hosts our WordPress website and its database. Registrations are stored as non-public records accessible to authorised website users.
- Google and WP Mail SMTP: support the organiser's email connection and delivery of website messages.
- Substack: provides the embedded newsletter signup and linked articles. When its form loads, your browser connects to Substack; information entered in the form is handled by Substack.
- Zoom: hosts online sessions where used. Registering on this website does not create a Zoom account. When you follow a joining link, Zoom processes the information you provide and technical information needed for the meeting. Your display name and any audio, video or chat you share may be visible to the host and other participants.
These services have their own privacy practices: Hostinger, Google, WP Mail SMTP, Substack and Zoom. Service providers may process information in countries other than your own.
Cookies, fonts and connection information
Our hosting and security services may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, requested pages and access times to deliver and protect the website. WordPress and installed services may use cookies for login, security and functionality.
This website loads Google Fonts, which means your browser sends connection information to Google's font servers. The Substack form may use its own cookies or similar technology when it loads or you interact with it. Linked third-party websites apply their own settings and policies.
You can manage cookies through your browser and through controls offered by the relevant service. Blocking them may affect embedded forms or sign-in features.
Sharing and protection
We use your information for the purposes described here, not to sell it or provide it to advertisers. Access may be needed by the organiser, authorised website support and the services that deliver these functions. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to investigate abuse or protect rights and safety.
We use access controls to limit access to non-public records. No website, email service or storage system can guarantee complete security.
How long information is kept
Registration records and correspondence are kept to administer events, answer related questions, resolve issues and meet applicable record-keeping obligations. They are not currently deleted on an automatic schedule. You can ask us to review or delete information that is no longer needed.
Newsletter information is kept while your subscription is active and as needed to honour an unsubscribe request. Copies in email systems, provider records and backups may follow different retention schedules. Disconnecting a service or deleting one record does not automatically remove every copy held elsewhere.
Your choices and requests
You may contact ashwin.patil82@gmail.com to ask what information we hold about you, correct it, request a copy or request deletion. Depending on the laws that apply to you, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent or complain to a relevant data-protection authority. We may need to verify your identity, and some records may need to be retained where legally required.
Use the unsubscribe link in a Substack newsletter to stop those updates, or contact us for help with a direct signup. Unsubscribing from newsletters does not cancel an event registration or necessary messages about an event you have booked.

We will update this page when our services or information-handling practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. Please contact us if anything here is unclear.
